Mamitsho Pontshi Lobo
If you would turn the wheel of time and went back 160 years to Congo Kinshasa, Mamitsho Pontshi Lobo's great-grandparents would never have imagined that one of Congo's Airbus would be piloted by one of their descendants. Mamitsho Pontshi Lobo was born on January 3, 1985. She is still in the air at the controls of the Airbus 320 of Congo Airways, a commercial aviation company in DRC.
"I have 2600 hours of flight experience. This is what earned me the nickname of 'the patriotic POM Flying Leopard'. It is not easy to be a woman copilot in the DRC. To achieve this, I overcame many obstacles, limitations and prejudices. I have known moments of extreme discouragement, of disarray. I was a victim of false accusations. All this has not rubbed off on my personality. I always get up and know how to start again on the right foot to move forward".
