Not a Woman's Job?

Susanne Klatt, head of Operations at the Essen Fire Department: "At first, I didn't have high hopes of being accepted into the professional fire department. There were many competitors and I had the impression that women were not necessarily given preferential treatment. But the bottom line is that at the end of the day, even in the fire department, it's always the individual personality that counts, regardless of gender."
