Anita DeFrantz
American Olympic rowing bronze medallist (Montreal 1976) Anita DeFrantz is an experienced sports leader, and a trailblazer for women’s empowerment. A member of the IOC since 1986, she is the first American woman to serve on the Committee, and the first woman elected IOC Vice-President. Formerly Chair of the Women & Sport Commission, she has helped drive the IOC’s efforts in advancing gender equality and the fight for non-discrimination.
