Representing Great Britain in gymnastics at the Olympic Games Montreal 1976, Barbara Slater made a highly successful transition to the media industry at the end of her sporting career. Joining the BBC during the 1980s, she rose through the ranks to become a media executive and the first-ever woman to serve as the BBC’s Director of Sport. She is also a member of the IOC’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commission.
