Cholitas Escaladoras
"Las Cholitas Escaladoras" from Bolivia (the Climbing Cholitas) are a group of indigenous Aymara women who have become professional mountain guides, promoting tourism and expeditions throughout Bolivia. They practice climbing proudly wearing their traditional clothing (pollera). They managed to ascend the 6,962 meters of Aconcagua in the Andes Mountains, the highest peak in America, and demonstrate to the world the power and courage of the woman who wears a "pollera".
