Gabriella Azzopardi is a software engineer with a PhD in computer science. At CERN, her primary task was to automate aspects of the LHC’s controls, speeding up the procedure by over 70% and paving the way for more advanced set-ups and optimisations. Through her research she developed dedicated algorithms and brought machine learning to the CERN Control Centre.
