Beatriz Carrillo de los Reyes is a leading figure in gender equality, human rights and the fight against racism in Spain. She entered national politics as a member of the Congress of Deputies, where she chaired the Committee for the State Pact against Gender-Based Violence. The first Roma person to serve in the Government as Director General for Equal Treatment she has championed key public policies against racism, anti-Roma discrimination and hate speech.
