Air Brigadier General Diná Azevedo made history in the Portuguese Air Force as the first woman pilot-aviator promoted to brigadier general. With 4,500 flight hours in transport, search&rescue, surveillance, and command and control aircraft, she held key operational commands, including Squadron 502 and Air Base No. 6, and was Military Advisor to the President from 2016 to 2022. Currently, she directs NATO’s Combined Air Operations Centre in Torrejón, Spain.
