Not a Woman's Job?

Mariyam Shifzan is the first and only female in the Maldives to hold Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License. Currently she is working at CAA as a Senior Airworthiness Engineer. In her 19 years aviation career she has worked as a B2 (Avionics) engineer on DHC-8, Do-228 and DHC-6 (sea Plane) at IASL and TMA. Currently she is involved in aircraft safety oversight function, ensure the organisations approved to maintain & manage Maldivian registered aircraft adhere to CAA regulations. She is actively involved in drafting regulations and standardization conferences within the South Asian Region.
