Not a Woman's Job?

Aya Atamedova's parents always dreamed that their daughter would one day become a doctor. However, Aya chose an unconventional profession for Turkmen girls and currently works as a Logging while Drilling (LWD) specialist and provides her expertise in dozens of countries. UNFPA supported the Government of Turkmenistan in the development of the second National Action Plan on Gender Equality 2021-2025, which envisages that more Turkmen girls will choose the professions in STEM.
