Former Togo national volleyball player Djatougbe “Nathalie” Noameshie is a pioneer for women in volleyball refereeing throughout Africa. The first fully qualified female international volleyball referee on the continent, she has officiated major African and world competitions despite this being frowned upon at the time. Successfully transitioning from competition to sports administration, Noameshie won the 2019 IOC Women & Sport Continental Award.
