Doaa Elghobashy created history at Rio 2016 when she and her teammate, Nada Meawad, became the first-ever Egyptian and Arab duo to compete in beach volleyball at the Olympic Games. Elghobashy also became the first hijabi player to compete in beach volleyball at the Games. She is now training to qualify with the Egyptian team for Paris 2024.
