Layana De Souza
Growing up in Rio de Janeiro’s largest favela, IOC Young Leader Layana De Souza was passionate about playing football, but was forced out of the sport because of her gender. Switching to basketball, she won a scholarship to play college basketball in the USA, and has since founded the “Changing the Score” project to empower girls in her community to flourish in any sport they choose.
