An experienced sports leader, politician and seven-time Olympian, Seiko Hashimoto has challenged many gender norms in Japan to advance gender equality and inclusion in sport. President of the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee and 2021 IOC Women & Sport Awards World winner, she was the first Japanese woman to win an Olympic medal in speed skating, clinching bronze at the Winter Games in 1992.
