Ambassador Agda Rössel was the world’s first female Permanent Representative to the United Nations. She was also Sweden’s first woman ambassador, assigned to serve at the United Nations in New York 1958 to 1964. A pioneer of women’s leadership in diplomacy, she was at the forefront of advancing disarmament, peace, and multilateral cooperation—opening doors for future generations of women in international leadership.
