Cristina Coc is a Q'eqchi' Maya activist and co-founder of the Julian Cho Society, dedicated to indigenous land rights and environmental conservation in southern Belize. She led a landmark grassroots effort to win government recognition of Maya land rights, setting an international precedent for indigenous human rights. She also serves as spokesperson for the Toledo Alcaldes Association, a role she was unanimously reappointed to in 2025.
