Marianne Mikko is a feminist, writer, journalist and politician. Estonians know her as an activist in combatting Gender Pay Gap. As a journalist she launched Diplomaatia – a security policy monthly. As a politician she initiated a media pluralism report in the European Parliament and demanded in Parliament of Estonia women’s right to serve in military on equal basis with men. She holds the Vice-Chairperson’s position in the UN CEDAW Committee.
