Alfa Karina Arrué
Alfa Karina Arrué is a Salvadoran mountaineer, born on April 22, 1976, in Santa Tecla. During her childhood, she was involved in the scout movement and had her first encounter with mountains by ascending El Boquerón in San Salvador. In April 2022, she embarked on her ascent of Mount Everest, successfully reaching the summit on May 7, becoming the first Salvadoran to achieve this feat and the third Central American woman to summit Everest. Alfa Karina hopes that her achievement will inspire future generations and demonstrate that great accomplishments can be attained.
